Where is Mount Pleasant Airport?  

Royal Air Force Mount Pleasant is a military base for the Royal Air Force in the British Overseas Territory of the Falkland Islands. The facility is part of the British Forces South Atlantic Islands (BFSAI). Home to between 1,000 and 2,000 British military personnel, the station is located about 48 kilometres (30 miles) southwest of Stanley, the capital of the Falklands, on the island of East Falkland, Falkland Islands.

RAF Mount Pleasant Airport (IATA: MPN, ICAO: EGYP), also acts as the Falkland Islands' only international airport. In this capacity, it is referred to as Mount Pleasant Airport, Falkland Islands International Airport, Falklands Airport, MPN Airport or simply MPN. 

FIGAS flies from Mount Pleasant Airport to Port Stanley Airport (PSY) and other settlements on the Falklands.

LAN Airlines flies from Mount Pleasant Airport to Punta Arenas, Río Gallegos and Santiago.

Flights are planned to Saint Helena Island when a new airport there opens in 2016.

Note: The United Kingdom's Ministry of Defence (MoD) operates non-commercial flights from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire to RAF Mount Pleasant, with a midway refuelling stop on Ascension Island (stopover permitted, to break up the 20 hour flight). Flights open to civilians operate about twice a week.
